We have a structured lesson plan for beginners that utilises the latest equipment and teaching techniques, safety and lesson quality are the first concerns for our students. There are no shortcuts! Only the best instruction will set you on the right path and have you progressing quickly. Our instructors will be with you at all times, giving you 100% attention.

Lesson plan

The very first lesson will involve theory, safety, learning equipment terminology, self-rescue and getting in the water with the kite.

Is it easy?

For most people kitesurfing is fairly fast to learn. It is easier to progress than sports like windsurfing and wave riding. Kitesurfing is not strength-based, so you do not have to be ripped to be a kiter. When you first start learning, you may get tired. So get some rest beforehand to be ready to absorb what you learn. Once you have mastered the basics you will cruise along with little effort.

How long will it take?

That depends on you! What is your general level of fitness and balance? Have you been involved in any similar sports such as snowboarding, surfing, wakeboarding or sailing? We can teach you in 2hr or 4hr blocks.

Beginner – Intermediate – Advanced ($120 per hr)

We can tailor a lesson to suit you from the youngest to oldest student, from beginner to advanced wanting to add new tricks to their repertoire. Surf, freestyle or foil, we got you covered!

One on 1 ($120 per hr)

Sometimes it’s nice to be treated as #1! Be a little selfish and lock in one of our guys to be your dedicated instructor for each lesson. To give you an idea, the average student will take 3-5 lessons to be self-sufficient and safe.

Zero 2 Hero

New for the 2018 season is the ‘Zero 2 Hero’ kitesurfing course.

This season we’re offering the popular Zero2Hero course in two parts:

L-Plate course – 3hrs ($199)
This is held at our showroom in Kurnell, away from any distractions of the beach, sun, wind and other kiters. This will allow you to understand the equipment, elements, theory and plenty of practice before hitting the beach.

P-Plate course – 8hrs ($800)
Once you are equipped with all the basics, bring your wet gear and get in the water! You will be partnered up in a buddy system for this course. We’ll start by mastering kite control and then move on to board starts and downwind riding. At the end of this, you should be a self-sufficient and confident kiter!

This course offers you best value for money by learning in small groups, without cutting any corners on instruction. You will learn at a steady rate and reach achievable goals. At the end of the course you will be ready to enter the wilds with a kite and be self-sufficient and safe. Learning in a group environment will also allow you to meet future kite buddies.

When you learn with us you will receive all the information you need to be safe, progress quickly and to use and maintain your equipment so it lasts longer.

We are your kite buddies and always there to help you when you’re on the beach with any questions.
